ISKCON is an international organization and preaching & spreading the teachings of Srimad Bhagavad Gita and the glories of Lord Sri Krishna are our main business.

ISKCON Founder Acharya Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada has said that books are the basis, utility is the principle, purity is the force and preaching is the essence. And of preaching, organized preaching is the best.

Therefore, in line with this, BHISMA Department is formed to serve this purpose – as a centre for providing and disseminating information, services and mails with our Life Members, well-wishers, devotees, the people in general etc.

About Life membership

1. Currently the Life Membership donation is – Rs. 35,555/-.
2. This Life Membership program was introduced by the Founder Acharya of ISKCON, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (Srila Prabhupada) since the inception of the movement which he founded in New York in 1966.
3. This membership program is a standard feature of major ISKCON Temples preaching activities in India and all over the world which includes building of grand temples and maintenance, opulent and elaborate deity worship, massive printing/publishing and distribution of Vedic literatures in different languages, free food distribution (annadaan), cow protection (go-shalas), farm communities etc. for the spiritual upliftment of the masses of people in general – which is the topmost welfare work.
4. The main objective of our preaching activities is to propagate and spread the teachings of Srimad Bhagavad Gita, the glories of Sri Krishna and the chanting of the Mahamantra– Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare, the dharma of Kaliyuga to every town and village all over the world as desired by Sri Krishna Chaitanya, the merciful incarnation of Lord Sri Krishna for this age.
5. The Life Membership program is designed to cater for the pious people who would like to donate for the preaching activities as mentioned in items 3 and 4 above. This is a great opportunity for them to participate and engage themselves directly and indirectly in the devotional service (bhakti seva) of Lord Sri Krishna and derive immense benefits, spiritually and materially.
6. The Life Members will be given an Identity Card which will be honoured by ISKCON temples in India and all over the world. And wherever there is guest house facility, members are eligible for one room to stay for 3 nights at each temple in a year at a special discounted rate with free meals/prasadam.

   The Life Members should make advance booking by themselves with the respective temples by telephone/on-line.

7. The purpose of the guest house facility is to encourage and give an opportunity forthe Life members to come, stay and participate in our temple devotional activities and experience Krishna consciousness in practice for themselves in the association of devotees while they are on pilgrimage, holiday, business trips etc.

   Members are also invited to participate in the many festivals we observe throughout the year.

8. The Life Members are also given a set of books / Vedic literature either in Odia or English for their reading pleasure.
9. The Life Membership program is designed solely with a noble and spiritual motif. It is not a business transaction in anyway. All monies generated from Life Membership and other activities are utilized for our preaching activities.

   Our esteemed Life Members are well-wishers in this respect.

10. The above idea and concept is by the divine and magnanimous arrangement of Lord Sri Krishna through His dear devotee Srila Prabhupada to engage the people of this age in His devotional service, which is the ultimate perfection of human life.
